TEMPLE OF MAE NAK, THAILAND

There is one place in Thailand that horror should not miss to visit especially the lovers of horror, Temple Mae Nak name. Temple is located in the temple complex of Wat Maha But it is always crowded with tourists who come to ask for blessing the statue of Mae Nak. Not to mention offerings of garlands, cosmetics, toys, diapers, and bottles as seserahan to Mae Nak and her child.

Upon investigation, it turns out there is a horror story behind this tradition offerings. About a hundred years ago, there was a beautiful woman named son who married a man named Maak. While pregnant with her first son, the husband should be conscripted and did not return until the boy bore. This is where the horror story begins.

In a remote village in Siam, Mak (Winai Kraibutr) will be sent to fight in a war and had to leave his pregnant wife, son (Intira Jaroenpura) which Mak's departure ushered in a deep sadness. In the war, Mak injured and barely survived, but he managed to return to his home to be reunited with his wife and children who loved her, or so she thought was going on. Upon his return Mak, events mysterious and scary began going around the village.

A friend visited him and saw Mak living together with the child. The villagers knew that the boy had actually died in child birth process Mak few months earlier, realized what was happening, that Mak has been fascinated by ghost kid. Nak ghost becomes increasingly edgy and aggressive because of his inability to accept the fact that he had died early and despair because they can not live with the husband whom she loved. The villagers are trying to tell Mak, or who knows too much, ended up murdered one by one by the ghost boy.

Towards the end, Mak finally know what is really going on. He was very surprised and frightened that fled to the local temple. The well-meaning villagers tried to help him in some way, among burning house inhabited by a ghost boy and eventually summoned a mythical ghost repellent to crush the forehead of the skull remains of boy (this is Siam mystical beliefs that will reliably destroy a person's soul and ghosts ).

Boy turns to her first child died in childbirth, the child also tragically died. However, because such love to the husband, the ghost boy refused to leave the house until her husband came home. Maak went back home without knowing that she was a ghost. The last couples living together as if everything is normal.

Until finally reveals that the boy had died. Shocked by the fact, Mak went to a temple and called shaman to expel son. After some difficulty, the shaman finally managed to blame the girl, and save the boy ghost in a bottle. Since then, a special shrine built in memory of Mae Nak. Even today, the accompanying legends and traditions still exist.
